About us
Our History
Kenya Co-operative Coffee Exporters Limited (KCCE) was founded on 25th June 2009 and registered as a Co-operative Society under the Co-operative Societies Act of 2004.
KCCE is owned by 74 primary coffee cooperative societies and 9 registered coffee unions, from all the thirty-three (33) coffee growing regions in Kenya. It was established with the support of the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Co-operative Development and Marketing, in response to long-standing challenges within the Kenyan coffee sector. These included limited farmer control over marketing, fragmented export coordination, inconsistent quality representation, and reduced net returns at origin. The organisation was created to strengthen how Kenyan coffee is prepared, marketed, and exported, while ensuring that cooperative coffee reaches international buyers with clarity, traceability, and proper handling.
KCCE is licensed as a:
- Direct export agent
- Warehouseman
- Auction Brokerage
- Independent Cupping Centre
Our Role in the Coffee Value Chain
