Warehousing
Warehouse Services
Coffee received at our warehouse is handled through structured intake procedures designed to protect quality and traceability. Upon arrival, each consignment is documented, verified against delivery records, and weighed using calibrated digital scales to ensure accuracy. Intake details are recorded immediately, creating a clear audit trail from receipt through storage and onward dispatch.
All handling processes are designed to maintain the physical condition of the coffee and preserve the identity of each lot. This disciplined approach allows us to support both operational efficiency and transparent reporting to cooperatives, buyers, and regulatory bodies.
Warehousing Standards
Our warehouse operations adhere to required industry and regulatory standards. Storage areas are organised with sufficient walkways to allow safe movement of personnel and equipment. Clearly demarcated sections ensure that lots are separated by origin, grade, and shipment status, reducing the risk of mixing or misidentification.
These structured storage practices support efficient stock rotation, simplify inspections, and reinforce accountability throughout the warehousing process.
In addition, all coffee stored within the warehouse is subject to approved fumigation and safety control measures in line with Kenyan regulations and importing-country requirements. Fumigation is carried out by licensed service providers using approved methods and chemicals, with clear records maintained for each lot. These measures protect the coffee from pests and contamination risks while ensuring compliance with food safety, phytosanitary, and international trade regulations.
Real-Time Stock Management
Kenya Co-operative Coffee Exporters uses a real-time stock management system to track inventory accurately at every stage of storage. This system provides up-to-date visibility on quantities, locations, and movement history, supporting informed decision-making by internal teams.
Accurate stock data also enhances transparency for buyers, enabling clear communication around availability, shipment planning, and order fulfilment.
Warehouse Environment
Maintaining a well-aerated warehouse environment is essential to preserving coffee quality during storage. Proper airflow helps regulate temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of moisture buildup and quality deterioration.
By maintaining stable storage conditions, we support cup integrity and ensure that coffee remains export-ready from intake through dispatch.
Skilled Personnel
Our warehousing and logistics operations are supported by trained and qualified personnel with hands-on experience in coffee handling and export compliance. Staff receive regular capacity-building and refresher training to ensure consistent application of procedures, workplace safety, and regulatory standards.
This focus on skilled personnel ensures that coffee is handled with care, documentation is managed accurately, and buyers can rely on consistent, professional execution across every shipment.
